Melissa Peterson
Melissa Peterson serves as President of Americas Onshore and Americas Country Manager at 脴rsted, where she leads all aspects of the company鈥檚 onshore operations across development, execution, finance, commercial strategy, and generation. In her role, Melissa is responsible for steering the business鈥檚 overall vision and strategic direction, managing key stakeholders, optimizing operations and resources, and cultivating a strong company culture and high-performing team.
Since joining 脴rsted in 2019, Melissa has held several senior leadership positions, including Head of Power Marketing & Origination, Head of Power-to-X, and Head of Onshore Development & Origination鈥攅ach reflecting her deep expertise and versatility across the renewable energy value chain.
With nearly two decades of experience in the renewable energy and green hydrogen sectors, Melissa is recognized as a dynamic, forward-thinking leader. Her career began in onshore renewable project development and evolved into commercial leadership roles spanning power markets, financing, strategic partnerships, and executive management. She has held positions at EDF Renewable Energy, Apex Clean Energy, and S-Power (AES), contributing to transformative projects and industry growth.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Policy. She also completed The Executive Program at the University of Virginia鈥檚 Darden School of Business.
